Teaching Highlight

Field Course Biogeochemistry of Alpine Habitats
In a one-week, intensive field course taught every summer at the Alpine Biology Center, Lake Cadagno (Piora, TI), students gain hands-on experience in field and laboratory experimentation to assess important biogeochemical processes in a variety of Alpine habitats including wetlands, microbial mats, and in famous meromictic Lake Cadagno. Alpine and botanical excursions complement the experimental work, and are additional, equally well-received course highlights.
